Moving in to clean as you move on

Moving is generally recognised to be one of the most stressful events in life, and even if you don’t have a house to sell, moving on at the end of a tenancy can still be an intensely crowded time.  If the actual move were not enough, there are meters to be read, change of address forms to be sent out to all and sundry and services transferred.  And on top of that you then have to cope with an end of tenancy clean.  Skimp the clean and you are in danger of losing all or part of your deposit.

When landlords and managing agents ask for an end of tenancy clean, they aren’t just asking for a quick vacuum over or a wipe round the bath with a damp cloth.  They expect the end of tenancy clean to restore the tenanted premises to the immaculate state it was in when handed over at the start of the agreement.  Exact requirements vary but in general you should expect to be asked to carry out the following:
End of Tenancy Cleaning checklist

Kitchen cleaning

• All cupboards to be cleaned on top, inside and the fronts
• Fridge to be cleaned inside and out
• Freezer to be cleaned, customer to turn off 12 hours prior to our arrival
• Oven and extractor to be cleaned
• Tiles to be cleaned
• Any appliances to be wiped over
• Floors to be steam cleaned or hovered and moped
• Windows and doors to be cleaned
• All skirting to be dusted and marks wiped of
• Light fittings to be dusted and or wiped clean
• Cleaning of washing machine and drawer
• Cleaning of dishwasher inside and out

Bathroom cleaning

• Full de scale of tiles, shower screen and floor
• Bath to be cleaned
• Toilet to be cleaned
• Shower head to be de scaled
• Mirrors to be cleaned
• Any cupboards or fixtures and fittings to be cleaned
• Extractor fan to be cleaned
• All skirting to be dusted and marks wiped off
• Light fittings to be dusted and or wiped clean
• Windows and doors to be cleaned

Bedrooms

• Windows and doors to be cleaned
• All furniture to be moved and wiped over, inside and out of cupboards and wardrobes
• Light fittings to be dusted and or wiped over
• Full vacuum under bed and carpets
• Cleaning of mirrors and pictures
• Cleaning of skirting boards

Lounge

• Windows and doors to be cleaned
• All furniture to be moved and wiped over, inside and out of cupboards and shelving units etc
• Light fittings to be dusted and or wiped over
• Full vacuum under sofas and chairs including moving all cushions and cleaning behind
• Cleaning of mirrors and pictures
• Cleaning of skirting boards
• Cleaning of televisions

Hallway and stairs

• Vacuuming of stairs and hallways
• All banisters and spindles to be cleaned
• Skirting boards to be cleaned
• Any light fittings to be dusted and or wiped over to remove any marks

Some landlords will also ask for carpets, curtains and soft furnishings to be deep steam cleaned.  This service is not provided as part of the standard Cleaner London end of tenancy service but is available as an extra add-on.  If steam cleaning of carpets etc is required please ensure that this is requested at the outset in order that we can provide an accurate quote in terms of time and cost.

Calling on Cleaner London to provide your end of tenancy cleaning service means that you can concentrate on the move and enjoying your new home without having to spend days cleaning up the old one.  The Cleaner London end of tenancy cleaning team are experienced in cleaning to meet landlord’s requirements and will work to the list above unless you have a separate schedule which should be provided at the outset.  In fact, why not streamline your London move further and book our packing and removals service alongside your London end of tenancy clean.

Important please read

• The customer is to ensure that our cleaners have hot running water and electricity in order for them to clean properly. If ladders are required then this must be stated at booking.
• Fridges and Freezers should be emptied prior to our arrival and turned off so we can clean them.
• Cleaners are not permitted to hang out of windows.  If exterior window cleaning is required we can arrange for our specialist window cleaners to complete this part of the London end of tenancy cleaning task.
• Cleaners are not permitted to undertake any additional works unless the office has been informed and it has been authorised first.
• End of tenancy cleaning does not include the cleaning of ceilings, curtains, carpets and upholstery nor does it include washing up or laundering, if you require these services please notify the office on booking so this can be added in to our quotation.
• If our cleaners have to pick up keys from a third party address prior to starting work, there will be an additional £10 charge.
• We require a parking space for one vehicle, or metered parking is to be paid by the client in order for us to carry out our End of Tenancy Cleaning service.

Should a complaint arise, Cleaner London is to be informed within 24 hours where we will be happy to sort out any issues, any complaints after this time will not be considered.

We require a deposit of 40% of the total amount payable which is non refundable should you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled End of tenancy cleaning service.
