As cleaners we see all the fun that goes on, afterwards! We see the curious imprints on the copier, and we are the ones that have to retrieve the unlucky victim’s desk furniture from all over the office building. And hunting down all the empties is a mission in itself.

Last year we ran a Post-party Clean-up Games  … a how-to on rebuilding the team after the team-building Christmas party has gone all shades of wrong.

But cleaning effectively can only really be done by professional, trained office cleaners. The Games were a fun way of tidying things up, really, so the office cleaners can come in when all the hangovers have gone home and give the office a good, deep pre-Christmas clean.

Often when Cleaner London office cleaners start a new contract, one of the first things they hear about is the mess after the Christmas party. It’s quite possibly the only time the office manager really notices how good – or bad – a job the office cleaner does.

And some of those stories … my goodness! Not about the parties themselves, in fact, and not about the post-party clean-up games, but about the mess the cleaners had to deal with afterwards. Horror stories come out about how badly the offices were cleaned after the previous year’s office party.

And that’s why it’s so important to have a professionally trained office cleaner. Most people are capable of dusting, sure, but it’s when cleaning counts most that you realise how important the office cleaner is.  It is important to make sure that everything is cleaned properly and efficiently so that the office is back in order for the start of the next working day.

Not surprisingly, we get a rush of new clients after Christmas. Untrained cleaners find they don’t have the skills to clean a whole office – they can’t get the stains out of the carpets, they don’t know how to remove silly-string from the walls or the soft furnishings. In their panic to clean the whole office, they leave tinsel down the back of the copier and they often completely forget about the light-fittings.

After most Christmas parties, there are several people who would just rather forget, and it’s part of an office cleaner’s job to do that. A good, professional office cleaner will have an office spik-and-span, and put the Ghost of Christmas Party to bed for another year.
